Part 1: Introduction & Interview (4-5 minutes)
Topic: Online Shopping
Examiner: Let's talk about online shopping. Do you often shop online?
Candidate: Yes, I do! I find online shopping very convenient because I can compare prices and read reviews before making a purchase. I also like that it saves time—I don’t have to go to a physical store.
Examiner: What do you usually buy online?
Candidate: I usually buy electronic devices, clothes, and books. I also use online platforms to order food and sometimes even groceries. Recently, I started exploring new apps for second-hand shopping because it’s more sustainable.
Examiner: Do you think online shopping will completely replace physical stores in the future?
Candidate: Not completely, but I believe online shopping will continue to grow. Physical stores still offer the advantage of trying products before buying them. However, with virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, even this gap might be reduced in the future.
Part 2: Long Turn (3-4 minutes)
Task: Describe a technological innovation that has changed the way we shop. You should say:
What the innovation is
How it works
Why it is important
Candidate: I would like to talk about artificial intelligence (AI) in online shopping. AI is revolutionizing the e-commerce industry in many ways. One of the most important applications is personalized recommendations.
For example, when we shop on platforms like Amazon or Alibaba, AI analyzes our browsing history, previous purchases, and preferences to suggest products that we might like. This makes shopping much more efficient and enjoyable.
Another interesting AI-driven feature is chatbots. Many online stores now use AI-powered assistants that answer customer questions, help with product selection, and even process refunds. This improves customer experience and saves time.
AI also plays a huge role in fraud detection. Online transactions can be risky, but AI algorithms can identify suspicious activities and prevent fraud.
In my opinion, AI is making online shopping smarter and safer. It helps both businesses and customers by offering personalized experiences and improving efficiency. I believe that in the future, AI will become even more advanced, maybe even predicting what we need before we realize it ourselves!
Part 3: Discussion (4-5 minutes)
Topic: The Future of E-commerce and Work in This Field
Examiner: How do you think e-commerce will evolve in the next 10 years?Candidate: I think e-commerce will become even more automated. We will probably see more AI-driven customer support, better logistics with drones and self-driving delivery vehicles, and even virtual shopping experiences where we can try clothes or furniture using augmented reality. Also, cryptocurrency might become a common payment method, making global transactions easier.
Examiner: What skills are important for people who want to work in e-commerce?
Candidate: First of all, digital marketing skills are crucial because businesses need to attract customers through social media, SEO, and online ads. Data analysis is also important because companies rely on customer insights to improve their services. Technical skills, like knowledge of automation tools and AI, can also be a big advantage. And, of course, good communication and problem-solving skills help in dealing with clients and unexpected situations.
Examiner: How has automation affected jobs in e-commerce?
Candidate: Automation has replaced some routine jobs, like data entry and customer service, with AI solutions. However, it has also created new job opportunities, such as AI specialists, UX designers, and digital marketers. I believe that instead of fearing automation, people should adapt by learning new digital skills and working alongside technology.
