Part 1: Introduction & Interview (4–5 minutes)


Topic: Marketing and Customer Experience

Examiner: Have you ever bought something because of an online advertisement?

Candidate: Yes, I have. Sometimes I click on an ad or visit a website out of curiosity, and if the product looks interesting and the page is well-organized, I might end up buying it.

Examiner: Do you pay attention to how businesses present their products online?

Candidate: Definitely. I notice how they structure the page, what kind of content they use, and how they guide you from reading about the product to actually buying it. It’s interesting to see how marketing works behind the scenes.

Examiner: Would you like to work in digital marketing?

Candidate: Yes, I think it’s a fascinating field. It combines psychology, technology, and creativity. I’m especially interested in how automation tools and AI are used in marketing strategies today.


Part 2: Long Turn (3–4 minutes)


Task: Describe what a sales funnel is and explain why it is important for businesses.

You should say:

  • What the sales funnel is

  • What the main stages are

  • Why it is useful for companies


Candidate: A sales funnel is a marketing model that shows the journey a potential customer takes before making a purchase. It’s called a “funnel” because many people enter at the top, but only a few actually become customers at the bottom.

There are usually four key stages:

  • Awareness – when people first discover a brand, maybe through a social media post or ad.

  • Interest – when they start learning more about the product or service.

  • Decision – when they compare options and consider buying.

  • Action – when they finally make a purchase.

Some funnels also include a final step: loyalty or retention, where the company tries to keep customers coming back.


Understanding the sales funnel is important because it helps companies improve their strategy at each stage. For example, they can create better ads to attract attention, write helpful content to keep people interested, and use email campaigns or chatbots to guide users toward buying.

I believe the funnel is also important for automation. If businesses know where someone is in the funnel, they can send the right message at the right time. That increases conversion and builds trust.


Part 3: Discussion (4–5 minutes)


Topic: Sales Psychology and Digital Business

Examiner: How does understanding customer behavior help businesses grow?

Candidate: It allows businesses to design better experiences. If a company knows what motivates people or what problems they want to solve, it can offer more personalized products, improve communication, and increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Examiner: Do you think automation is making the sales process better or worse?

Candidate: I think it depends on how it's used. If automation is done well, like sending helpful reminders or guiding someone step-by-step, it improves the experience. But if it feels too robotic or aggressive, it can push people away. Balance is key.

Examiner: Should students learn about business and sales funnels at school or university?

Candidate: Yes, especially if they’re interested in entrepreneurship or marketing. The sales funnel is a basic concept in modern business, and knowing how it works can help students launch their own projects or understand how companies succeed in digital environments.
